Navantia Seanergies' Green Energy Centre of Excellence promotes innovation, knowledge development and transfer, talent and entrepreneurship in the sustainable energy sector through collaboration with customers, strategic partners, supply chain, SMEs, sectoral associations, R&D&I agents (universities, technology centres, etc.) and other stakeholders.
It drives the development of new solutions, as well as the competitiveness of companies, for the growth of strategic industrial capacities in the field of offshore wind energy, hydrogen and other marine energies.
With three sites in Spain located in Fene, Puerto Real and Cartagena, the centre of excellence is a lever for driving and strengthening the industrial fabric surrounding Navantia Seanergies, contributing to the development of the value chain for the construction of a sustainable and profitable future in the energy sector of the future.
KNOT WELDING ROBOT
Navantia Seanergies has an extensive technological capacity.
A successful case of innovation is the development of a knot welding robot for offshore structures. It is a robot that incorporates an innovative tandem MCAW system, which, among other things, improves quality, fatigue resistance and knot manufacturing times. This solution was fully and successfully industrialised, being used by Navantia Seanergies in the execution of its jackets projects, which has made it the only robot in the world to date with proven experience in the welding of knots of commercial offshore jackets.
